William Ray Geier, Sr., a resident of Belfair, Washington passed away on October 11, 2023, in Belfair, Washington, at the age of 69. He was born on December 25, 1953, in Pomona, California to Bob and Lola Geier (Robinson). He was a graduate of Sunnyside High School in Sunnyside, Washington. He married his wife Connie Geier (Smith) on July 15, 1972, in Sunnyside, Washington. William served in the US Navy for 11 years as an Electrician Specialist. He received many awards during his service in the Navy which included a National Defense Service Medal, Battle “E” Ribbon and a Good Conduct Award. During his time in service, he served on the USS Sperry and USS Kitty Hawk and was stationed in Portland, Oregon, San Diego, California, Groton, Connecticut and finally in Bremerton, Washington. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on March 1, 1983, as a Petty Officer. He went on to work as a Plastics Fabricator at Naval Base Bangor for 32 years before retiring.
William was always involved in his children’s sports and coached softball. He loved riding his motorcycle for short trips around the sound as well as cross-country adventures to visit family and friends. He played Bingo with friends every Wednesday and enjoyed spending time with his family, near and far.
William is survived by his daughter Sarenna Geier, son Bill Geier, Jr., brother Robert Geier and sister DeAnne Wade. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Connie Geier, son Adam Geier, brother Steven Geier, parents Bob and Lola Geier as well as other friends and family.
A funeral service will be held at Lewis Funeral Chapel on October 28, 2023, at 11:00am followed by a reception at the same location. Following the reception there will be a graveside service with military honors at 2pm at Twin Firs Cemetery in Belfair, Washington, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Connie and son Adam.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or other veteran organizations.
