Dennis Dorsey was born on April 14th, 1951, in Sunnyside Washington to Orville and Katherine (Becker) Dorsey. He passed, after a long battle with Parkinson’s/Dementia at the family home in West Richland on February 27th, 2024.
Shortly after graduation from Sunnyside High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in the 207th Military Police at Fort Riley, Kansas. While stationed at Fort Riley he met and married Jane Protzman in Abilene, Kansas. After his military service ended, they returned to Sunnyside. They had three children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by Orville and Katherine Dorsey, daughter, Lynn, brothers: Gilbert and Steven Dorsey. Survived by his wife, Jane; son, Samuel (Janie), daughter Kimberlee (Tracy Maling), grand children: Venessa (Christopher) Ormson, Reilly Maling, Xena Dorsey, Kaitlynn Maling, and Xander Dorsey.
After a brief stint as a jailer at Yakima County Sheriff’s Office; he was employed for forty years as a Patrolman on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. After retirement he moved to West Richland in 2011.
Dennis was passionate about Chevy muscle cars and drag racing at Renegade Raceway under the name of Casper Racing.
Viewing and visitation will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with Graveside Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, Sunnyside, WA.
