With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jose Alfredo Guerra. He departed from this world on Friday, July 26th at the age of 72 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was born in Edinburg, Texas on September 4, 1951. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Alberto & Esther, and siblings Gillivaldo, Minerva and Mary. He is survived by 4 sisters, Hortencia, Francisca, Margarita, Rosamaria and 2 brothers, Richardo and Hector. He is survived by his wife Norma and they were married for 47 years, their children are Corina and Celina. They have 7 grandchildren, Briauna, Lukas, Selina, Isabel, Jared, Jadyn and Joie and a great grandchild Calliope.
Joe was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with the guys, dancing at the Eagles and welding projects at home. Joe would always lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it and put others first before his own needs.
May Joe rest in eternal peace with his Lord and Savior, praising Him and basking in the beauty we can only imagine.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of him on Friday, August 2, at 10:00 at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. Followed by a burial service at Sunnyside Memorial Gardens.
