Jim was wicked smart. There was no doubt. A funny guy and very personable, I can imagine that he was a great teacher and a awesome human being.
Jim and I were colleagues at the Prosser School District for over 20 years. His wit, puns, and photographic memory were legendary. Jim made a difference in so many lives... he will be truly missed.
Dennis Perrault, born on December 14, 1951, was a classmate of ours during our sophomore year and the first half of our junior year. At that time, in January of 1969, he moved up the Valley, and graduated from high school in Wapato. Dennis worked as an orchardist in the Wapato area, and passed away due to colon cancer on May 29, 2003, at the age of 51. His survivors included his wife and three children, his mother, and two brothers. His cousins, Adele and Michelle Perrault, were 1971 SHS graduates.
Norman Gregory Arnold, known as "Greg" to his friends and classmates, was born on November 18, 1951, and passed away from the effects of pancreatic cancer on February 12, 1997. With his orchard land in the Mattawa area, Greg was one of the first and foremost growers of organic apples. He even learned to fly a helicopter. His survivors included his wife, Gayle, children Andy and Amy, his mother, Beverly Montgomery of Sunnyside, and his sisters, Susan (SHS '69) and twins Merry and Terry (SHS '71).

Joseph Curtis O'Connor, better known to us as "Joe" or "Joey," was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, on February 16, 1952, and moved to the Sunnyside area with his family when he was five years old. He died in an automobile accident between Prosser and Grandview on September 26, 1975.
David Eugene "Dave" Johnston was born on August 31, 1952, and passed away on Easter Sunday, April 7, 1996, having been injured in a one-vehicle accident while traveling from the Tri-Cities to Wenatchee with a truckload of flowers from his wholesale nursery business.
